The most anticipated supercars and motorcycles of 2023

From an 852hp Pagani to a V12 Ferrari SUV to a new KTM race car, there’s plenty of highlight reel footage down the supercar pipeline this year. To go Columnist David Booth’s list of seven supercars and motorcycles are expected to fall (or at least delete more details) in 2023 includes the Pagani Utopia, the Ferrari Purosangue and the KTM 990 RC, as well as another Ferrari, a Lamborghini, a Maserati and the MV Agusta Lucky Explorer 9.5 motorcycle
The most expensive example is the Pagani, an 852 hp V12 supercar with a steering wheel carved from a single block of aluminum. You too can ride like Horatio if you have $2.19 million

Lamborghini is also sure to be making waves and throwing dirt when it opens the pin for the Sterrato, an off-road Huracan with a 610-horsepower V10, 44mm more ground clearance, upgraded suspension and more. Apparently there’s a press trip coming up where the drivers will be driving the Sterrato off-road…and I happen to know that Booth owes me a favor
Canadian pricing for the 2023 Lexus RZ 450e starts at $64,950

Lexus recently unveiled its first battery electric vehicle in North America, the 2023 RZ 450e, a crossover with an estimated range of 360 km and three available trim levels. Pioneering the brand in a BEV-centric future, the RZ uses a new powerful electronic axle that packs the inverter, transaxle and motor together, expanding interior space and increasing range. The 301(ish) hp SUV will sport a “DIRECT4” for its all-wheel drive system, which reportedly controls the front-to-rear driving force ratio between 100:0 and 0:100, marking a step away from what was a signature element , a “spindle body architecture” instead of a spindle lattice

Romania confiscates 15 of Andrew Tate’s expensive cars

It’s been a bad month for influencer and former kickboxer Andrew Tate, but please don’t feel sorry for him. The British TikTok misogynist was arrested in Romania late last month on sex abuse and human trafficking charges. Since then, the authorities have confiscated his assets and legally locked them away. Possessions and items confiscated to date include over a dozen rare and valuable vehicles
Tate’s collection is rumored to have included a Lamborghini Huracan Spyder, a Mercedes-AMG S63 coupe, a McLaren 720S, an Aston Martin Vanquish S Ultimate, several Ferraris and a Rolls-Royce Wraith. What remains in his garage, if there is one left, is unclear, but the Romanian state has confiscated 15 vehicles so far. They are even believed to have taken his most prized possession, a multi-million dollar Bugatti Chiron recently unveiled in one viral Twitter exchange that leaves Tate quite toasted by environmentalist Greta Thunberg

Taliban unveil Corolla-powered supercars

the Mada 9 sports car is a Interesting Matter. Reportedly, the prototype took more than 30 engineers over five years to design and develop, and apparently uses a modified engine from a Toyota Corolla. But the most interesting thing about the Mada 9 is its place of origin: Afghanistan
Taliban party spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid announced the global debut of the Mada 9 in December, who took to social media to share pictures and say what an honor it was for the country. But the lack of actual stats coupled with its manufacturer’s less-than-stellar reputation doesn’t bode well for the Mada 9, which is making it past this vaporized prototype form.
ManufacturerENTOP’s CEO hopes that this project “will help boost Afghanistan’s image on the world stage.” At the risk of dragging politics into the garage, perhaps Afghanistan should focus on its humanitarian crisis before investing in supercars
