With an estimated Net worth of £130 millionthe athlete, 35, has a decent budget to work with.

Despite his bulging bank balance Murray is still clinging to his very first car – his beloved Volkswagen Polo.

Even his wife Kim Sears begged him to scrap it, but this tennis ace refuses to part with the 14-year-old engine.

He kicked out his enviable car collection with the Polo at the tender age of 22, used it as a speedster in which he could not be recognized.

Though he admitted he was still strongly attached to it, the father-of-four ditched the trusty vehicle five months later.

He gave the Polo a break from the road and bought a bright red instead Ferrari 430, which is estimated to have cost him £117,000.

But he amusingly admitted that he felt “a bit of a jerk” behind the wheel of the luxury Italian Engine.

The double Wimbledon champ said: “I subjected myself to peer pressure but didn’t enjoy driving it at all. There was an error.”

He flogged the Ferrari in 2010 — way too his father Williamwas pleased because he didn’t think his son “should drive something like that when he just passed his test”.

He explained: “With the Aston, yes it’s a nice car, but it was a bit more understated – and it wasn’t red.”

The 35-year-old later pocketed £125,000 bmw i8 after winning the Munich Open – but passed it on to his father.

2016, his sponsorship deal with Jaguar ensured that the tennis ace always walked in style.

He rolled about in the enviable jaguar XKR before owning the £66,000 Jaguar I-Pace which was arguably a standout item in his collection.

He was one of the first owners of the British automaker’s all-electric performance SUVs.

Murray said of the engine: “Yes. I love him. It’s beautiful, comfortable and fast.

“And of course I need a decent boot for my gear. He’s perfect for me.”

However, he did admit that he had to constantly plug the Jaguar into the mains to keep it running with some juice.

He explained: “Obviously it takes a little longer than filling up at a gas station, but I didn’t plan it in advance.

“Now I charge the car almost every night when I’m at home.”

The tennis legend was also spotted driving her family around in one Porsche Cayenne SUV.

Whatever engine you see Murray riding, he’s made a clear choice between accommodating his thugs or youngsters.

But despite his enviable car collection, the car closest to his heart is the VW Polo.

He reportedly allows his buddies to whiz around in the budget engine to make sure it doesn’t rot.
