Carroll Shelby was a legend in American automotive culture. If he were still alive today, he would have been one hundred years old on January 11, 2023. Nevertheless, his company of the same name insists on celebrating the birthday of its founder with a special package for the Ford Mustang GT.
Shelby American offers this as the 2023 Carroll Shelby Centennial Edition Mustang special edition install in limited numbers. The upgrades aren’t strictly performance related, however, as this build comes with several Centennial brandings to show its exclusivity – including a signed black Stetson hat and a Shelby Centennial Book published by Team Shelby.

Aside from the usual Shelby exterior upgrades, the special edition Shelby Mustang features Centennial branding on the rear fascia, side rocker stripes, emblems and badges. There are also Le Mans over-the-top satin black vinyl stripes. Inside, the door sills, floor mats and leather upholstery all feature Carroll Shelby Centennial Edition emblems and badges.
In terms of performance, this is what you’d expect from the company. A black Shelby supercharger with a gauge brings the power of the 5.0-liter V8 to 750 hp (559 kilowatts). Bringing that power to the ground is a set of satin black 20-inch wheels wrapped in Shelby-Spec 305/30/20 Performance tires.
The engine upgrade comes with other upgrades such as a vented hood, heavy-duty radiator, under-hood fluid cap kit and a cat-back Borla exhaust. Performance springs, anti-roll bars, adjustable caster/camber plates and Ford Performance Pack-type OEM Brembo calipers are all part of the deal.
“This Shelby Mustang delivers the level of performance that Carroll expected his name to be on a car. We’re so confident he’d approve of the Carroll Shelby Centennial Edition Mustang that we throw in a black Stetson like the one he wore with every car,” said Vince LaViolette, Shelby’s American vice president of operations, test drivers and Chief of R&D.
Shelby American will only make 100 units of the 2023 Carroll Shelby Centennial Edition Mustang. The MSRP of the bundle starts at $49,995 for most titles 2023 Ford Mustang GTexcluding the California Special and Mach 1 models.
