Gestamp has announced a fourth hot stamping line in India.
It recently presented extremely large parts, battery boxes, cell-to-pack concepts, connection technologies, innovative lightweight solutions for chassis and active frunks at a car show.
“Gestamp aims to raise the bar in terms of its relevance in India as a key player in the automotive components sector, at a time when the Indian automotive sector has grown exponentially and has become the third largest automotive market in the world,” the supplier said in an opinion.
The new hot stamping line will open by the end of the year in addition to the two existing ones in Pune and another one in Chennai.
Established in 2006, Gestamp India has local R&D capabilities.
Gestamp’s third division, known as the Edscha brand, signed a joint venture last year with the Indian automotive supplier Aditya Auto Products & Engineering based in Chakan. The first production of modular hinges in Pune will take place next spring.
