The highly anticipated 2024 Kia EV9 will debut this year with a bold design and a range of innovative features. Despite the excitement, Kia kept it EV9 Specifications for themselves – that is, until now.
Possible Kia EV9 specs revealed
A customer survey sent to electr from a current Kia Telluride driver shows what could be our first look at the 2024 Kia EV9 specs. The survey shows five different trim options, with all-electric ranges ranging from 220 miles up to 290 miles, and asks which participants would choose.
While these specs aren’t set in stone, we’re gaining a better understanding of which market Kia is targeting with its first electric SUV.
Kia debuted its three-row SUV at the 2021 LA Auto Show as concept car and has been building anticipation ever since. Last month we took a closer look at what to expect from the EV9 design (Find more pictures here), and now we’re gaining insights into its performance, pricing, and reach.
The survey shows prices will range from $56,000 to $73,000. The two most affordable models feature RWD and 200 hp, while the more expensive version features AWD and 400 hp.
The base $56,000 model has 220-mile range and 19-inch wheels, but no zero-pound towing capacity and sunroof. For an additional $5,000 ($61,000), buyers can get two features, 290 miles of range with 2,000 pounds of towing capacity, a sunroof, and captain’s chairs for second-row seating.
All trim levels are available to load the vehicle (V2L) capabilities, with the top two trim levels also loaded Vehicle-to-Net (V2G) options.
For $73,000, the top-of-the-line EV9 model comes with 240-mile range, all-wheel drive, 4,500 pounds of towing capacity, increased ground clearance with improved approach and departure angles, 21-inch black wheels, a full-length sunroof and all the extras.

Kia’s flagship SUV is said to run on Hyundai Motor Company’s E-GMP platform, the same one used for the popular SUV IONIQ5 and Kia EV6. As Kia’s launch gets closer, the EV9 specs listed above are subject to change.
We reached out to Kia, and the company has confirmed that the survey was sent out in anticipation of the EV9 and other upcoming EVs. A Kia spokesperson tells us: “The final specs for EV9 are therefore very much in flux at the moment as the launch is later this year.”
We’ll keep you posted as we learn more details about the EV9 launch.
