There are celebrity kids and then there are rock star celebrity kids.

Because what’s more heartwarming than watching a legendary musician take time off the stage to start a family and, in Bono’s case, become a doting father of four?
However, it’s his second eldest child, Eve, who’s been in the spotlight a lot lately — but on her own terms. In fact, not many people even know that her father is the U2 frontman, despite the fact that she already has an impressive acting list that includes Tesla and Bad Sisters.
She is also known for not being afraid to speak up. The outspoken Irish starlet recently slammed the New York Times for misidentifying her nationality as ‘British’ and took to Twitter to capitalize the error: ‘OH DEAR @nytimesarts. WE ARE IRISH PLEASE AND THANK YOU.â€
In an interview with The Telegraph, the aspiring actress opened up about her disappointing casting experience, saying, “Whenever I read a script about ‘the most beautiful girl in the room,’ I want to throw up.”
So who is she and what else has she been into?
Daughter of an activist and rock music icon
Born to Bono and Ali Hewson, Hewson grew up in Dublin, Ireland. Her parents are children’s favorites and married in the 1980s at the height of U2’s fame.
According to the Irish Mirror, Eve’s mother Ali decided to take a break from her nursing career when U2 started and continued to dedicate her life to humanitarian work and motherhood.
The kids grew up mostly out of the spotlight, for which Eve has said she’s grateful. “I’m really lucky I didn’t grow up in London. I’m really glad I didn’t grow up in LA. Being in Ireland and the fact that the Irish don’t care about fame is not our currency at all… I think that really helped,” she told the Irish Times.
Eve’s older sister Jordan is a tech entrepreneur and activist who made the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, her younger brother Elijah is in a rock band and her other brother John is currently staying out of the spotlight.
An impressive spectacle
Hewson made her acting debut in 2008 with The 27 Club, but her first major role was with Sean Penn in 2011’s This Must Be the Place. The 31-year-old has gone from strength to strength since then, landing gigs with actors from Tom Hanks to Mila Kunis.
She was in The Knick with Clive Owen and Robin Hood with Jamie Foxx and Taron Egerton. She also starred in the short film Hello Apartment directed by Dakota Fanning.
Hewson returned to the big screen in 2020 to star in the film Tesla opposite Ethan Hawke before Netflix’s Behind Her Eyes became an instant hit the following year.
Her last acting appearance was in the acclaimed black comedy Bad Sisters on Apple TV+.
She grew up surrounded by music legends
The perks of being a rock star’s daughter? Connections of course! Growing up, Hewson seems to have been introduced to celebrities from left, right and center. In an interview with Magic FM, she detailed her theory that Take That’s Robbie Williams “stole” her dance move for his “Rock DJ” music video.
She remembered how he stayed with her family and she was a great dancer and performed a special move for guests. “Then he went and shot this music video, and that’s the move! I swear he got that from me.â€
Hewson also told Jimmy Fallon that she once called Justin Timberlake “caressingly” with her friend when she was 11 after finding his number at her family’s home.
She loves Formula 1 – and is determined to be in a Brad Pitt film about the sport
During her interview with Jimmy Fallon, Hewson expressed her love for binge-watching the Formula 1 Netflix series Drive to Survive — and the “beautiful” racers she follows.

She went on to reveal that Brad Pitt has the same manager as her and that she knew he was working on an F1 film. At dinner with her manager, she said, “Get Brad Pitt on the phone right now,” she told the talk show host, adding that she was determined to take part in the project even for a minor role in the background.
Pitt, a Hollywood veteran, even admitted he was a fan of Hewson after seeing her in Behind Her Eyes. She ended jokingly, “If I’m not in that movie, give it hell next time you see it.”
A fashion icon – and Chanel enthusiast
Hewson has quickly become a style icon after appearing on numerous red carpets. But she has one brand in particular in mind: Chanel. In an interview with Vogue, she described her “obsession” with the French fashion house, saying, “I just want Chanel to be with me always.”
But despite her family’s incredible wealth — Bono alone is worth $700 million, per Celebrity Net Worth — she didn’t get her first Chanel bag until she was 19, according to Dujour. She also loves all things vintage, telling Vogue that sustainability comes first stands and it is the right thing. “It’s not like there is a shortage of great vintage clothing out there.â€
