Honda 2-Wheelers India will launch a new flagship variant in the Activa scooter range, reportedly to be called the Honda Activa Smart in the country

Honda two wheelers India will unveil a top-end variant of the Activa scooter range. The name of the new top of the range popular scooter, RTO documents accessed by Zigwheels suggest Honda Activa will be smart. The documents also contain information on the potential incorporation of the technology into a future Honda Activa 6G variant. Since Honda had sent out a ‘Block Your Date’ invitation for January 23, it’s likely that the all-new Activa ‘Smart’ Hybrid will go on sale that day.

Although the new Activa variant will have the same 109.51cc engine as the standard model, its engine power is registered higher at 7.8 hp. The document reveals that the forthcoming Honda Activa Smart is also 1kg lighter than the Activa Std and DLX models, with a gross vehicle weight rating of 279kg. It measures 1833 mm in length, 697 mm in width and 1156 mm in height with a wheelbase of 1260 mm.

Honda will use its “H-Smart” two-wheeler anti-theft system, which it previously trademarked, on the new Honda Activa Smart. This could be something similar to the Honda Ignition Security System (HISS) found on some other Honda offerings. In the future, alongside the Activa 6G, other Honda scooters such as the Activa 125 and Grazia could have improved power delivery and anti-theft protection.

With the advanced technology inflating the capacity of these two-wheelers, the price could also increase by Rs 3,000 over the current prices of the standard fairings. Meanwhile, reports suggest that the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer is also developing a new budget-friendly 100cc motorcycle that will offer exceptional fuel efficiency. This 100cc bike is expected to go on sale in early 2023, making that time well wrapped up for the company.

The motorcycle manufacturer currently sells the 110cc Honda CD110 Dream DLX and Honda Livo, both variants of which are powered by a 109.51cc single-cylinder engine that produces 8.7 hp and 9.3 Nm. India may get the Honda XRE 300 adventure bike, already available in some international markets.
