Pascal Wehrlein in second place: “That was a great start to the season”


Pascal Wehrlein was a man on a mission in the closing stages of Mexico City E-Prixafter battling through the top five to claim a super second place finish in the 2022/23 season opener ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

Wehrlein started the first race of the Gen3 era in sixth place after being eliminated in the duels quarterfinals after being beaten by the eventual race winner Jake Dennis. On the other side of the Porsche garage, Antonio Felix da Costa had a solid debut for the German manufacturer, having managed to finish in the points since his move DS Techeetah.

Da Costa narrowly missed out on qualifying duels and had to settle for ninth on the E-Prix grid, a position he maintained in the early stages of the race. He was soon promoted to eighth thanks to Ticktum, who pitted after a power spike to serve a penalty.
