After Novitec has optically upgraded the Tesla Model S, Model 3 and Model X, it is finally presenting a tuning kit for the Model Y. The electric crossover benefits from aerodynamic details, new wheels and suspension improvements that give it a more aggressive look.
Just like the rest Tesla‘s electric models that Model Y gets visible carbon add-on parts, including a front lip spoiler that reduces lift on the front axle at high speeds. A new spoiler for the tailgate and a diffuser for the rear bumper ensure a slimmer look at the rear and combine visually with the new side skirts. One of the highlights of Novitec’s aero package is the set of 22-inch forged wheels with 255/30 tires at the front and 285/30 tires at the rear. The tuning company says that the new wheel set not only gives the Model Y a more aggressive look, but also improves the crossover’s handling.
In the suspension department, Novitec equips the vehicle with height-adjustable aluminum suspension, available on the twin-engine versions. It makes the zero-emission vehicle more agile and lowers it by up to 40 millimeters, which also has a positive effect on the car’s aerodynamics. Novitec says that the electrical energy consumption on long-distance journeys can be reduced by up to seven percent with the new chassis.
Back in 2019, Novitec has presented a similar tuning package for the Model 3. This EV also received new wheels, carbon fiber exterior upgrades, and suspension modifications. The visual adjustments to the electric sedan were a bit more subtle compared to the Model Y
Novitec also offers various customization options for the interior of the battery-powered crossover. The demonstrator offers a wide choice of colors and materials, with stylish carbon fiber inserts for the dashboard and door panels, and Alcantara leather for the headliner and other areas of the cabin.
